When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. You cannot upload images to the website, but if you share images via links from third party hosts, you should avoid using images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images.

Contact forms

The contact forms on this website only capture your email address, the name you provide and the information you write in the main body of the message. All the information you provide in the contact form is used only for specific communication between us, according to your initial message. None of your personal data are used or transferred in any way by or to a third party, other than the cases where the law requires it. I will not send you spam emails or anything else that you did not sign up for, explicitly, using the email subscription form (which is a separate form only for this purpose).

Cookies and analytics

The only cookies used by are those provided by WordPress, Jetpack and Google Analytics. These help us improve the website content continuously and are only anonymous cookies. Your browsing habits are aggregated with those of all the other visitors and no ads are being served to you from the use of this website. We don’t like ads and we know you don’t like ads, so there are no tracking cookies comparing your behavior on different platforms. Your buying and sharing decisions are strictly your own and we respect that.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you send a message through the contact form, the message and email address are retained for up to five years, to facilitate communication over a longer period of time. If you would like your messages to be deleted before their expiration date, you should write us a message stating this explicitly and we will remove all communication data we have.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your data is not sent outside of the EU. Your comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
